President

After 10 years at Hydrogen, Mary took the helm in 2023. With big agency cred from shops like FCB Global and DDB Worldwide, as well as scrappy thinking from independents like Borders Perrin Norrander, she can think big, but still roll up her sleeves. Like she has for DiGiorno Pizza, Tabasco®, American Airlines, Boeing, Motorola, Sharpie, and others.

As President of Hydrogen, Mary serves on the Board of Directors for Worldwide Partners, an invitation-only network of independent advertising agencies. An AAF Silver Medal Award winner for her contribution to the Seattle ad community, she is also a member of International Women’s Forum, a global group of over 7,000 female business and community leaders. Mary is currently writing her second novel.

Michael McGrath

Chief Creative Officer

Michael brings over two decades of creative leadership and a truckload of industry accolades to the team.

He started his career in New England, where his eye for detail and strong visual sensibility quickly set him apart. Big agencies came knocking with opportunities that took Michael across the country, leading creative for global brands like SC Johnson, Sharpie and Boeing, as well as regional gems like Seattle Children’s. Michael’s work has been recognized by Cannes, D&AD, Graphis, The One Show, The Art Director’s Club and the ADDYs.

Michael is happy to be permanently planted in Seattle with his wife, two sons, and two excitable Cardigan Welsh Corgis.

Jason Gearhart

Director of Account Management

Jason believes the best ideas come from focused strategies, strong client relationships, and collaboration. Jason has spent over 25 years at agencies building environments of trust where great ideas not only flourish—they deliver business results.

Jason has led both small and large cross-functional teams, and worked across a multitude of categories for clients, such as T-Mobile, Microsoft, adidas, the NBA, Seattle Storm, and a host of others.

A self-professed “bike nerd”, Jason owns what many would consider too many bikes. (Jason disagrees.) When he’s not at work, he’s probably cycling on a trail or the open road somewhere around Bend, Oregon.

Media Director

Greg has been immersed in the ever-changing world of advertising media for over 20 years—staying on top of trends while staying true to his philosophy that media ideas should be developed in lockstep with messaging and audience insights.

Powered by sky-high standards for execution, and equipped with media toolbox that is both deep and wide, Greg has provided integrated media solutions for BECU, Optum, Washington Department of Health, PEMCO Insurance and the Seattle Mariners.

When Greg isn’t buried in analytics, he can be found in the outdoors around Seattle— fishing, hiking, camping, or at Husky stadium raising a “W” to his favorite team. (Go Dawgs!)
